Home Thrown studio is based at The factory studios in Boscombe 107a Haviland Road Dorset. A lively old renovated coach house, houses a variety of Artists; Fine Art, Print Making and now Ceramics. The perfectly sized studio has all the facilities to get your wares under way! An electric pottery wheel, 43 litre Kiln and all the clay you could dream off.

Week 1 - Introduction to hand building - Finger pots/coil pots & Slab building & Clay types: Stoneware / Terracotta 

Week 2 - Introduction to the throwing on the wheel & Imprinting / Hump Moulds & Coiling

Week 3 - Glazing & Oxides

Week 4 - Finishing Projects for Firing

During each session, each mud thrower will be presented with tutorial notes and will be guided through each process. With a small group there will be plenty of time to ask questions and talk through own project ideas.

Wednesday Eve Drop In - Mud Throwers Workshop

Evening weekly drop in classes for anyone who has already completed the Home Thrown Beginners course:  Wednesday Evenings - 6.30pm - 9pm 

 £15 a session all materials included - Unless your creation is MASSIVE! :) These sessions are for clay throwers who want to continue to develop their skills in a less formal setting, creating own projects and exploring other clay based techniques. 

Please email to reserve your spot! - Once a member please notify on the day by 12.30pm that you are coming to make sure there is spaces

(*Some firings will incur a charge if the ceramic pieces are very big, to cover costs of materials)

 

Mini Mud Throwers / Home Schoolers

Hen Do Mud Throwing

I can arrange a personal Mud Throwing Hen Party with Bubbles and plenty of laughter! Let me know what ideas you have,  I would love to help make your Hen happy!  

 

Terms & Conditions

Beginner / Drop In:  Materials costs will NOT apply, these costs are part of the session / course fee. You will receive an email saying that they are ready and from the date of this email you will have 14 days to collect your work.

All work made during any session must be taken within 14 days of the final session or upon work being fired. I will notify you when your work is ready to be collected. This will ensure shelf space is used effectively.

In the event of non-attendance or arriving late to classes it is not possible to provide alternative studio time, or for a class to be rescheduled. Classes are at fixed times to cover the cost of tuition.
